Sustainable Home Décor, Handcrafted from Upcycled Saris
I was a Sari makes sustainable home pieces from upcycled saris and reclaimed fabrics: décor and dining, festive ornaments, stationery, storage baskets and quilted slippers, each one one of a kind.
Every piece is handcrafted by women artisans in Mumbai, so its print and texture are unrepeatable. The result is functional, characterful design made with zero textile waste.
What makes I was a Sari home pieces sustainable?
Each piece is made from existing sari fabric rather than new materials, keeping textiles out of landfill. Production is hand-finished and small-batch, and every purchase supports fair, dignified work for women artisans in India.
What's included in the home collection?
The collection brings craft and character to every corner of the home:
- Festive ornaments: handmade stars, moons, angels and trees for seasons and celebrations.
- Décor & dining: cushion covers, throws, table runners and napkin rings in unique prints.
- Stationery: sari-covered notebooks, cards and photo frames.
- Storage: quilted storage baskets and plant pot covers.
- Quilted slippers: soft, cushioned house slippers.
Why is every piece unique?
Because each one is made from a different sari, no two pieces share the same colour, print or texture. Every piece is personal, distinctive and timeless.
