I was a Sari makes sustainable accessories from upcycled saris: scarves and wraps, foulards, pareos, scrunchies, headbands and travel accessories, each one colourful and one of a kind.
Every piece is handcrafted by women artisans in Mumbai from pre-loved sari fabric, so its print and colour are unrepeatable. The result is soft, versatile design made with zero textile waste.
What makes I was a Sari accessories sustainable?
Each piece is made from existing sari fabric rather than new materials, keeping textiles out of landfill. Production is hand-finished and small-batch, and every purchase supports fair, dignified work for women artisans in India.
