Ease is the starting point of the pull-on pants in the I was a Sari collection. Designed to be worn without effort, these trousers feature a clean pull-on construction that feels immediate and intuitive. The tapered leg gives the silhouette definition, while upcycled sari fabrics bring softness, movement, and character, turning a practical everyday piece into something expressive and personal.
Pull-on pants are trousers designed without traditional fastenings, relying instead on an elasticated waist for comfort and simplicity. This style prioritises ease of wear while maintaining a clear, wearable shape. At I was a Sari, pull-on pants are crafted from repurposed sari textiles, combining a familiar construction with distinctive patterns and textures.
The pull-on pants are shaped to feel relaxed without appearing loose. A softly elasticated waist with a drawstring allows the fit to be adjusted naturally, while the leg tapers gently towards the ankle for balance. Practical pockets are integrated into the design, adding everyday functionality without disrupting the clean line of the trousers. The result is a fit that feels comfortable, adaptable, and easy to move in.
Every pair of pull-on pants begins as a sari with its own history. These pre-loved fabrics are carefully selected and transformed by women artisans in Mumbai, extending their life and reducing textile waste. Small-scale production and limited quantities reflect an ethical approach to fashion focused on reuse, craftsmanship, and responsible making.
Versatility is built into the design of the pull-on pants. They work effortlessly for everyday wear, travel, and relaxed workdays, styled simply with tops or layered with more structured pieces when needed. The tapered cut keeps the look neat, while the pull-on waist ensures comfort from morning to evening.
Because each pair is made from a different sari, no two pull-on pants are exactly alike. Variations in colour, pattern, and texture are part of what defines the garment, reflecting a circular philosophy that values individuality over uniformity. The result is a pair of trousers designed to be worn often, styled easily, and kept over time.

Between two sizes? Go by your chest measurement first for tops, or hips for bottoms, see the notes below.
Use a soft tape, wear light clothing, and keep the tape level all the way around.
Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, level across the back. Keep it snug, not tight, and read the measurement where the tape meets.
Find your natural waistline, usually the narrowest point of your torso. Don't hold your stomach in, keep the tape level and comfortably snug.
Stand with feet together and wrap the tape around the fullest part of your hips and seat, straight and level front to back.
