Movement comes first with the panta pareo, a garment designed to feel light, fluid, and adaptable from the moment it’s worn. The wrap construction, combined with softly flared legs, creates a silhouette that follows the body without restricting it. Upcycled sari fabrics add character and depth, turning each pair into an expressive piece that feels relaxed yet intentionally designed.
At its core, a panta pareo blends the logic of wrap garments with the comfort of loose trousers. Inspired by traditional pareo forms, this style uses overlapping panels and a tie-up waist to create flexibility in fit. Within the I was a Sari collection, the panta pareo is reimagined through repurposed sari textiles, giving a familiar shape a distinctive and contemporary identity.
Instead of relying on fixed sizing, the panta pareo adjusts naturally to the wearer. The tie-up waist allows the fit to be customised, while the flared legs open into a fluid line that moves easily with every step. The result is a relaxed, breathable fit that feels comfortable across different body shapes and ideal for long, unstructured days.
Sustainability begins long before the garment is finished. Each panta pareo is made from a pre-loved sari, carefully selected and transformed by women artisans in Mumbai. By extending the life of existing fabrics, this process reduces waste and supports ethical, small-scale production, resulting in trousers that carry both craftsmanship and responsibility.
Versatility defines how the panta pareo fits into everyday wardrobes. It works effortlessly for travel, warm-weather days, and relaxed moments, styled simply with tops or contrasted with more structured pieces. Lightweight fabrics and a wrap construction make it comfortable to wear for hours, while the flared silhouette adds a sense of ease and individuality.
No two panta pareo trousers are ever identical, because no two saris are the same. Differences in colour, pattern, and texture are part of the design itself, not a variation to be corrected. This circular approach values uniqueness and thoughtful reuse, turning each piece into something personal, wearable, and lasting.

Between two sizes? Go by your chest measurement first for tops, or hips for bottoms, see the notes below.
Use a soft tape, wear light clothing, and keep the tape level all the way around.
Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, level across the back. Keep it snug, not tight, and read the measurement where the tape meets.
Find your natural waistline, usually the narrowest point of your torso. Don't hold your stomach in, keep the tape level and comfortably snug.
Stand with feet together and wrap the tape around the fullest part of your hips and seat, straight and level front to back.
